IFMA WICHITA CARES

IFMA Wichita Philanthropy Committee and Facility Enhancement Grants

One of the strengths of the IFMA Wichita Chapter is its exceptionally talented and experienced membership community of both Facility Managers and Trade Partners which are some of the very best and brightest talent in the built environment in South Central Kansas.

In 2019, IFMA Wichita made the decision to “share” that talent with the local non-profit community in Wichita to help improve and enhance the ability of these valuable organizations to do their important work for our community.

Annually, the Wichita Chapter offers “facility enhancement” grants for improvements along with the opportunity for “in-kind” donations of labor and materials to assist with facility related needs. It’s our association’s way of giving back and providing expertise to these important organizations in areas that they may not have the expertise or the funding to complete themselves.

Grants are accepted each year beginning January 1st through June 30th and typically awarded in November. If your charity has a facility related need, we’d love to hear from you!

Purpose: Establish a Chapter Committee responsible for establishing and managing the IFMA Wichita Facility Enhancement Grant Program (IFMA Wichita Cares).

Benefits:

  • Demonstrating the strength and compassion of our organization to the local community.
  • Increases the interest, participation and fundraising potential for our Annual Golf Tournament.
  • Free and positive publicity opportunity.
  • Helps to strengthen our image among our membership.
  • Gives our membership an opportunity to showcase their skills and products and be acknowledged for their contributions.

Process:

  • IFMA Wichita Chapter Vice President Chairs the Philanthropy Committee along with volunteers.
  • Grant submission begins January 1 and ends on October 31 of each year.
  • Grants reviewed and voted on at the October Board meeting.
  • Press release sent out November 1 announcing grant recipients and the purpose of the IFMA and the grant.
  • Grant added to golf marketing to enhance fundraising and participation.

Program Goals:

  • The delivery of two Enhancement Grants annually of at least $750 each.
  • At least 10 grant requests annually from local non-profit organizations.
  • The development of one membership volunteer improvement project. This would involve getting our membership to donate their time, expertise and materials to help fulfill a grant request for facility enhancement. Example, repainting an entrance, enhancing the organization’s landscaping etc.

2026 IFMA Wichita Cares Grant Application will be available in 2026. The applications for 2025 have been received and awarded.
